The KitSon is an independent grassroots Think Tank that seeks to promote the bonding of cultures.

The KitSon has successfully organized more than 240 geopolitical and scientific dinner-debates, mainly in Paris but also in Geneva, Strasbourg, La Baule, the Middle East and now Giverny… Since 2006 “The KitSon” debates have brought together participants from more than 30 nationalities, from all political tendencies and all religions.

Our mission

  • If you have an appetite for argument, then pitch your bicker here, elegantly please, or if you are just curious, then indulge in Les Grands Crus Classés du Médoc or in the Alsatian wines of Ginglinger-Fix and turn an ear. In the relaxed ambiance of Hotel Regina in Paris, or at the Bouclier d’Or in Strasbourg, in Giverny, in Geneva and in Luxembourg, ‘The KitSon’ lives and breathes. Its pulse is live and open debate, freedom of expression is its philosophy and « bonding cultures » its credo.

  • Inspired by her work covering the Israel-Palestine conflicts, in 2006 journalist Elisa Kitson created The KitSon, the unique « bonding cultures » debate think tank based in Paris. Here the doors open to a who’s who of contemporary thinkers, diplomats, politicians, business executives, scientists and journalists who gather to share their « off the record » views across the dinner table chaperoned by the flavour of fine wines . The «off the record » environment allows for frank and robust dialogue amongst sometimes improbable compatriots but under a humanitarian veil anything can happen and there is no back door requirement if your political taste is too sour for others to fork.

  • Here there are no barred ideas, no discriminatory prohibitions, each debate is a victory for uncompromised freedom of speech of a kind unique in contemporary France. It is this buzz that makes The KitSon think tank a must-attend venue, hence an increasing clamor for the entry sign. With high-quality guest speakers, representing in excess of thirty nationalities, the dinner debates have become a rich magnet for those who know they can freely debate matters of current concern and interest with their international counterparts. Historically, the buzz created ripples beyond The KitSon and onto a unique global network of thought, spreading dialogue on a range of topics that both enrich and inform and inevitably constitute change.

  • What the future holds: the past eighteen seasons have seen a variety of crops sown, our aim to expand beyond the Anglo-French-Swiss Borders and cast seed more widely and at times to venture a wider audience with some « on the record » debates. The KitSon’s objective is to share its cultural influence with you.

Whatever we do though, members remain reassured we will not compromise on « The KitSon » ethic, the free voice of opinion in the name of « bonding cultures » and promoting peace between hostile peoples.
